Michaud Cooley Erickson (MCE) continues to lead the industry by providing our clients with sustainable solutions for environmentally sensitive building system designs. To MCE, a ‘healthy’ building design is of the utmost importance for a safe, comfortable and environmentally conscious building. Significant areas of consideration in building design for a sustainable building are indoor air quality, energy conservation, and energy efficiency. These key projects and strategies have been paramount at MCE even before sustainable and green design achieved its current popularity.

B3 BUILDINGS, BENCHMARKS & BEYOND
The B3 and SB2030 programs are a Minnesota based program to evaluate and monitor the sustainability goals on state-funded projects in Minnesota. The program is structured to evaluate new construction, as well as renovated and remodeled buildings. Every phase is considered from pre-construction design through Post Occupancy Evaluations (POE). Michaud Cooley Erickson has experience participating in these programs and has successfully completed several projects.
EnergyStar CERTIFIED BUILDINGS & PLANTS
The EnergyStar building certification process is built on a long-term commitment to sustainability. Once a team and responsibilities are established, the rewarding efforts can begin. The team must establish goals and develop an action plan. The next phase is implementation to allow the building to operate using 35 percent less energy on average. Michaud Cooley Erickson has partnered with eight companies to create EnergyStar certified facilities. Together, we have had our achievements recognized for sustainable designs on a variety of project types.
